Belly Bandit has started interviewing moms in business and here's what Leslie had to say...
Words of wisdom:
Keep it simple and trust yourself.
Ready, set, go!
I started my first business when I was 7 years old. It has always been an innate thing in me to make things and sell them. I love being my own boss. I love having a vision and bringing it to life. I love making things that others want.
Moms who made it:
I’ve now had two companies and I feel like “making it” comes in different forms. Just the fact that I create things that moms want to buy feels like I’m making it. When I was able to pay myself for the first time with my own company that was another stage of making it. And for sure when I see strangers with my products that feel like a huge success!
I don’t really have one mentor. I have met many people down the line who have mentored me and helped me in various ways. Advice to moms: Know that having your own business is a lot of work, but if you love it, it’s an amazing experience.
Me, me, me:
Me time can be anything from taking a hot bath, meditating, reading a great book or watching a great show, exercise, or a stroll down the aisles of Target! (Does that count as exercise??)
Harry Potter – my daughter and I are reading it together.
Ego says, “Once everything falls into place I will feel peace. “ Spirit says, “Find your peace and then everything will fall into place.”
