My daughter Lucy and I are no strangers to baking treats and sharing them with friends and/or delivering them to friends in the neighborhood. When a dog friend fell under the weather recently, we decided to make some treats for him after school one day to show him some love.
We've made dog treats before, so I knew it would be a pretty quick and easy activity for an afternoon after school (and homework). :) Lucy was able to measure out all the ingredients, which consisted of flour, peanut butter, applesauce, and beef broth. Yum! ;)
Once all the ingredients were combined, I helped her knead the sticky dough a little, then we rolled it out into 1/4" disc.
Then she used our bone-shaped cookie cutters to cut out small and medium sized treats.
As Lucy would say: easy peasy lemon squeezy! After hanging out in the oven for about 20 minutes, we took them out to let them cool.
Once they were cool and after Lucy asked about ten times if we could deliver them, we filled a bag with treats, Lucy wrote out a tag, and we headed out made a special delivery.
We were told that Coco loved his treats, which made us both happy!
We love to bake and we love to share treats with friends- even canine ones! We enjoy making our friends happy, and giving makes us feel good, too. :)
